BABRM Celebrates Major Win: Two Free Passes to IBS 2026

We’re thrilled to announce a first-of-its-kind achievement for BABRM—our association has won two complimentary passes to the 2026 International Builders’ Show (IBS) in Orlando! This prestigious recognition from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) honors our exceptional April–June 2025 Membership Drive, which brought in 65 new builder and associate members, representing an 8.2% increase in just three months.

This is a milestone worth celebrating: not many HBAs earn this honor, and it’s the first time BABRM has ever been recognized with free IBS passes. It’s a testament to the dedication of our members and staff and the incredible momentum we’ve built together.

Driving Growth: How BABRM Stood Out

Our spring membership drive combined strategy, community spirit, and member engagement. To encourage participation, we waived application fees and included a free affiliate membership—a $145 value for the first year. The response was outstanding: 65 new members joined, contributing to a remarkable 8.2% membership growth over three months.

It’s proof that when our members rally together, great things happen—not just for BABRM, but for the broader building community we serve.

Celebrating Our IBS Pass Winners

Two members who exemplify leadership, commitment, and resilience will enjoy this unique opportunity:

  • Maria Zimmer, Hummingbird Insurance — A BABRM member for over 10 years, Maria has served on multiple committees, was named Affiliate of the Year in 2022, and now co-chairs our Professional Women in Building (PWB) Council. PWB Councils are a cornerstone of NAHB’s mission, bringing women together to inspire, lead, and grow in the residential construction industry. Attending IBS will give Maria the chance to connect with national leaders and learn new strategies to make our local PWB even stronger—an invaluable opportunity for both her and our members.
  • Grayson Deal, Arbor Zen Wood Flooring Co. — Grayson embodies resilience, leadership, and community spirit. Following Hurricane Helene, he helped organize the Strings of Hope benefit concert in partnership with BABRM, raising funds to support local community recovery. At IBS, he’ll be a visible presence at NAHB events, showcasing how BABRM supports and uplifts its members through challenges and milestones alike, highlighting the strength and dedication of our membership.

Why IBS 2026 Is So Exciting

IBS 2026 takes place February 17–19, 2026, in Orlando, Florida, and it’s the largest light construction show in the world. With over 70,000 industry professionals, 1,700+ exhibitors, and 120+ educational sessions, it’s the ultimate place to:

  • Discover cutting-edge building technologies and products.
  • Learn from top industry experts and leaders.
  • Network with peers from across the globe.

This is also the final year the show will be held in Orlando, making IBS 2026 a particularly special event for East Coast members like ours.

A Win for BABRM and All Our Members

This recognition isn’t just a prize—it’s a celebration of our members’ hard work, engagement, and commitment. It highlights how far we’ve come and how much potential we have for the future. As Maria and Grayson head to IBS, they’ll bring back insights, connections, and inspiration to benefit all BABRM members.

We’re already looking forward to the next membership drive, and we encourage everyone to get involved. Every member can play a part in growing BABRM, strengthening the building community, and creating opportunities for recognition and success. Thinking about joining BABRM? There’s no better time. Membership connects you with a vibrant network, industry resources, and opportunities to grow your business—all while being part of a winning team.
