National Association of Home Builders

The National Association of Home Builders advocates on behalf of its members for a wide range of issues, including the tax code, federal housing programs, environmental laws, building codes, OSHA, building materials, housing finance, and more. A single win in the policy arena can save builders thousands of dollars on every home they build. NAHB leads the charge on key policy issues to protect housing and homeownership. Learn more about the NAHB here.

The NAHB Housing Portal illustrates the positive impact of housing across the country with the latest economic data and public polling results. NAHB’s interactive website allows members and the public to select a state or congressional district to better understand the state of the housing industry in their local area.

Together with the NAHB, when we reach out to members of Congress, we have an impact on the decisions they make.

North Carolina Home Builders Association

The mission of the North Carolina Home Builders Association is simple—to protect the affordability of housing while enhancing the economic and social benefit to the community. The wide range of issues affecting home builders makes it safe to say that no other trade association is impacted by as many bills in the General Assembly as NCHBA.

In every session, NCHBA works to protect our members’ interests.

Builders Association of the Blue Ridge Mountains

BABRM monitors public policy issues that have an impact on the livelihood of our members. The Government Affairs Committee, which is comprised of dedicated BABRM member-volunteers, is a liaison between local, state, and federal elected officials and our membership in Buncombe, Madison, Henderson, and Transylvania counties, including the City of Asheville, the City of Hendersonville, and the City of Brevard. For more information about the Government Affairs Committee.

A Call to Action

Since you have a stake in home building, you know that nearly every day Congress makes decisions that affect the home building industry and your bottom line. When we reach out to local and state officials and members of Congress to share our concerns about the issues that impact us, we have an impact on the decisions they make.

We make it easy with BuilderLink, a national grassroots program from the National Home Builders Association that connects members of Congress to the people who matter most – their constituents.

As a member of BABRM, all you have to do is sign up. Click for more information from NHBA.

Supporting Pro-Housing Candidates with NC BuildPAC

NC BuildPAC is the political action committee of the North Carolina Home Builders Association. This non-partisan committee is organized for the specific purpose of raising funds to support pro-housing candidates of all parties at the state and local levels of government.

Contributions to NC BuildPAC are an investment in the future of your business and the home building industry. It is essential that we support the candidates who understand and will fight for the issues important to our members when elected to public office. Candidates who receive support from NC BuildPAC know our critical issues and understand the depth of that support because it comes from thousands of builders and associates across North Carolina. NC BuildPAC contributions are the key to our ability to promote a pro-housing agenda in the legislature and local governments statewide.

Local Reserve for Local Impact

Out of all funds raised by BABRM for NC BuildPAC, 30% of those contributions come back to our local reserve to directly support local candidates running for office in the communities we serve.

For more information regarding NC BuildPAC, contact Lauren Goodwin at [email protected] or 919-676-9090. For information or questions about our local BuildPAC Reserve or Government Affairs Committee, please contact Megan Carroll at [email protected] or 828-299-7001.

Making a Federal Impact

The National Association of Home Builders sponsors a political action committee (NAHB BUILD-PAC) that represents the interests of home builders at the federal level.
