It was a hot one at K-Wall Poured Walls on September 17, but that didn’t slow down the 13th Annual Battle of the Builders. With 32 teams in the double-elimination cornhole tournament, BABRM members spent the afternoon competing, cheering each other on and catching up between rounds.
Congratulations to Glenwood Board Members of Builders FirstSource for taking home this year’s title and the $200 prize! Buchanan Be Baggin’ of Buchanan Restoration finished as runner-up.
The shade sponsors saved the day. Thank you to Green Home Solutions of Asheville, ProSource Plumbing Supply, GBS Builders Supply, Movement Bank, ALFIE and Willow Creek for giving players and spectators a place to cool off, talk and connect throughout the tournament. That time together is a big part of why our members look forward to Battle of the Builders each year.
Thank you to K-Wall Poured Walls for presenting and hosting the tournament. Hi-Tech Integrated Systems sponsored lunch, Skufca Law provided snacks, MATH Insurance kept everyone up to date as scoreboard sponsor, and Best Buy Metals sponsored the DJ. cLearn sponsored the reverse raffle, Griffin Waste provided sanitation services, and Valley Waste supported recycling.
The custom boards are part of what makes Battle of the Builders such a fun sight each year. Thank you to our new board sponsors: cLearn, Hajoca, Scroggs, Warmstead, United Federal Credit Union, Beiing Human, Forest Millwork, Cambria, GBS Builders Supply and Yoga Nut.
Thank you as well to our board re-entry sponsors: Best Buy Metals, Builders FirstSource, WNC Floor & Home, Cason Builders Supply, Hi-Tech Integrated Systems, K-Wall Poured Walls, More Space Place, Southern Concrete Materials, Silver Dog Construction, Monokast, Door Systems/ASSA ABLOY, Southeastern Tile, Kitchens of the South, EZ Rolloff Containers, Green Home Solutions/Ducky Ducts, Sealing Agents, CSDB and Tucker Materials.
A special thank-you to the volunteers who prepared the playing area, laid out the boards, set up the event and kept the tournament running smoothly all afternoon. There is a lot of work behind a day like this, and we’re grateful to the Social Committee and everyone who pitched in before, during, and after the games.
Thank you to every player and spectator who joined us. We look forward to seeing you at the boards again next year!
