October Volunteer Day
Last month, staff member Sarah and board member Jeff Ehrhardt rolled up their sleeves with Transylvania County Habitat for Humanity to lend a hand on a special project — building a deck for a family of six eagerly waiting to move into their new home.
Volunteer projects and stories like this remind us what community truly means. A deck may seem like a small thing, but for this family — two parents and four kids — it represents stability, safety, and the next step toward home.
We worked side by side with Habitat staff and volunteers to make sure the family’s new space was ready to welcome laughter, muddy boots, and backyard sunsets.
At its heart, this is what our industry does best: build hope. Every board, every nail, every hour volunteered helps move our neighbors closer to home and reminds us of the impact we can make when we come together.
Thank you to everyone who shows up, shares their skills, and gives their day to make a difference.
