HURRICANE RESOURCES - HOMEOWNERS and BUILDERS

It’s time for the Parade of Homes!

One of our favorite events, The Western North Carolina Parade of Homes, is coming soon. Over the weekends of October 12-13 and 19-20, 61 newly constructed and renovated homes around the region will be open for tours to the public.

This 43rd annual event is sponsored by Grey Gold Concrete. The homes are located throughout Western North Carolina, in such areas as Asheville, Hendersonville, Brevard, Black Mountain, Fairview, and Clyde.

Homes open for in-person tours range from a barndominium to luxury mountain retreats, and from net-zero energy homes to full home remodels. A total of 32 homes will be open for both in-person and virtual tours, with other homes available for online viewing only. The homes offer a wide range of styles and price points, since the Parade is designed to appeal to all types of visitors.

“The Parade offers such a variety of homes and features for people to see, and we find that visitors get ideas for their own home purchase or remodel project,” said Jimmy Penland of Silver Dog Construction, Chair of the Builders Association’s Parade of Homes committee. “With so many homes on display, there’s something for everyone.”

WNC POH Magazine

Visitors are encouraged to pick up a free WNC Parade of Homes magazine to pre-plan their tour. Magazines are located at Builders Association member businesses around the region, as well as at each house that is part of the Parade. The WNC Parade of Homes website will have a map of magazine pickup locations when the magazines are available.

A digital version of the magazine will also be available on the WNC Parade of Homes website if you can’t get your hands on the printed version.

Sprout is this year’s Featured Community, while the Cover Home is Living Stone Design + Build, and the Featured Builder is Solid Rock Builders.

The magazine includes detailed descriptions of the homes on display, including floor plans and builder information. It also features the categories of Coming Soon, Renewed Spaces, and Community Highlights, along with a comprehensive Business Guide that lists more than 1,200 area-building professionals.

Tastes of Tour

In addition to the homes on tour,  a unique event called the Tastes of Tour is set for October 11th. It’s a one-of-a-kind evening held at three stunning homes by Ward Enterprises in the community of Olivette.

Tastes of Tour attendees can explore the three homes while enjoying hors d’oeuvres and drinks and engaging with the builder, designer, and developers behind the homes.

The event, held just before the Parade kick-off weekend, offers an intimate, guided tour experience with small rotating groups. Space is limited, so securing a spot early is a good idea.
