Many of you already know we have finally added another member to the Builders Association team!
Caitlin Finch is our new Communications/Marketing Coordinator, and we are excited about what she will be bringing to the team. She moved to Western North Carolina from her hometown of Hattiesburg, MS in 2023 and has quickly grown fond of the area.
Here is a little Q&A for you to get to know Caitlin better!
What are your qualifications/history?
I graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in graphic design. After college, I moved to Asheville and began my career at a local design firm, where I spent nearly two years working closely with a wide range of clients (mainly craft beverage brands) to help build and strengthen their brand identities. Now, I’m excited to take what I’ve learned and continue growing in the marketing and communications field through my new role.
What brought you to the Home Builders Association?
I first got to know the Builders Association team through our shared co-working space (shoutout Thrive Co-working!). I was always interested in the work they were doing and really admired the team. I was excited to apply to this role because it felt like a great opportunity to join a mission-driven organization I already had a connection to.
What BABRM events are you the most excited to experience this year?
Even though I have absolutely 0 golfing skills (does mini golf count?) I’m excited for a fun day of golfing at our August Golf Tournament. Also, I’m excited to keep connecting with our members and can’t wait to experience my first Parade of Homes.
Favorite thing about WNC or Asheville particularly.
Coming from Mississippi, I really appreciate getting to experience all four seasons more consistently here, and with a lot less humidity! I also love how easy it is to get outside and enjoy nature, and the icing on the cake is the strong sense of community I’ve found here.
When you aren’t at work what are you most likely doing?
When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my dog, Bruiser (pictured above), going on walks with friends, or hanging out at local coffee shops. I’m also a big fan of chill nights in, whether that’s playing video games or getting crafty. I rotate through hobbies pretty often, so the answer usually changes, but right now I’m really into junk journaling and reading.
People would be surprised to know…
I went to architecture school for two years, which ultimately wasn’t the right path for me, but I’m excited to now be working in a field that connects back to that time!
