What happens when the Builders Association of the Blue Ridge Mountains gathers for an Asheville Tourists baseball game?
There’s good food, tons of giveaways, an opportunity to see good baseball, and photos with that one-of-a-kind Tourists mascot, Mr. Moon. (The mascot pays homage to the team’s name in the late 1800s – the Moonshiners.)
All this and more happened as the Builders Association hosted members, guests and their families twice this past season at McCormick Field, in June and in August.
Food and Giveaways
We provided food and drink for our crew each time at the Wicked Weed Brewing Party Pavilion, next to left field. Giveaways ranged from tickets to the Asheville Business Summit and Tourists game to a firepit and gift cards. Fun was had by all.
Our August event followed a fun pregame get-together at sponsor Firelight Hearth & Patio, which also donated the firepit for a giveaway. Also, we were happy to get a visit from State Rep. Caleb Rudow, who spoke to the group about his commitment to doing his part to address Western North Carolina’s housing affordability challenges.
These events are so important to our Association, giving members a chance to get to know each other away from work while providing a chance for our members’ families to be included in a fun outing. And these events are clearly a hit, given the great turnout each time!
