WNC Build and Remodel Expo Draws Over 1,000 Attendees, Showcases Local Expertise in 2026

More than 1,000 homeowners, homebuyers, and industry professionals gathered at the Davis Event Center in Fletcher on March 21–22 for the 2026 WNC Build and Remodel Expo, continuing the event’s growth as a go-to resource for information about building and remodeling in Western North Carolina.

Produced by the Builders Association of the Blue Ridge Mountains (BABRM), this year’s Expo featured over 75 exhibitors—an increase of more than 20% since 2024.

Exhibitors ranged from organizations like Givens Home First, which supports aging in place through home care and home modification services, to builders and remodelers such as Blue Pinnacle Homes and Semper Fi Custom Remodeling. The show floor also featured a strong lineup of product suppliers such as Asheville Window + Door, experts in energy and sustainability like Sugar Hollow Solar, and companies focused on outdoor living like Black Bear Decks. Additional exhibitors covered niche services ranging from chimney care and indoor air quality to cabinetry, closets, and flooring. Foundation Club sponsors, including Sherwin-Williams and 84 Lumber, were represented as well.

“We work to bring together a diverse mix of exhibitors that reflects the full scope of what homeowners and homebuyers are looking for,” says Jessie Edington, Events Manager for BABRM. “Whether someone is planning a renovation or just starting to explore ideas for a new home, they can find the right people to talk to at the Expo.”

Where Conversations Turn Into Plans

Homeowners and homebuyers came to the Expo ready to get answers. Across the show floor, conversations centered on real projects, from roof repairs and energy upgrades to full-scale remodels and new home builds.

“Having that many local professionals in one place is invaluable,” Edington says. “People can ask questions, get different perspectives, and start to understand what makes sense for their home.”

That same energy carried over to the Build Better Stage, where 11 presentations focused on real-world questions homeowners face. Among them were “What Are Modular Homes & How Are They Built?” with Carla Parvin of Build Modular; “Mold, Health & the Home: What Every Homeowner Should Know” with Dylan Hunt of Green Home Solutions; and “Built for Today, Ready for Tomorrow: A Place to Call Home for Every Age” with Brian Daniel of Scroggs Construction Services.

“The presentations help connect the dots,” Edington says. “They give homeowners context so they can walk back onto the show floor and have more informed conversations with exhibitors.”

Designer Showcase, “Pawrade of Homes,” and Other Weekend Highlights

Other Expo features offered additional ways to connect with local experts.

The Designer Showcase debuted with styled interior vignettes by local designers, including Lyn Mabry of Designing Spaces by Lyn and Lindsey Kehres of The Design Gallery, giving attendees a closer look at how color, materials, and layout can come together in a finished space.

Meanwhile, the “Pawrade of Homes” highlighted hands-on learning happening in local school programs. For this initiative, high school students from across Buncombe and Henderson counties designed and built doghouses using materials donated by 84 Lumber. The finished projects were displayed and judged on-site, with North Henderson High School taking top honors.

The weekend also had a relaxed, family-friendly feel. Attendees could stop by for face painting or fairy hair; visit with Mr. Moon, the Asheville Tourists’ mascot; or step outside to grab some grub from food trucks like Bigfoot-Longs, Britt’s Sweet Treats, DreadLife Kitchen, and Bear’s BBQ.

“It was a great event,” Edington says. “You could see people really engaging—asking questions, making connections, and starting to figure out what their next step looks like. We’re excited to keep building on that momentum next year.”

Looking Ahead
