On February 18th, we had our Annual Meeting digitally. Though we were not all together physically, we did have over 40 attendees at various times of the meeting. Megan Carroll welcomed everyone, then passed the mic to new Asheville HBA President Kevin Hackett (Longview Builders) to introduce our keynote speaker Barry Bialik.
Barry not only runs Compact Cottages, but is the Affordable Housing Committee Chair for the city of Asheville. His talk was called “How to Leave with an Extra Lot and Other Development Tricks”.
Then First Vice President of the NCHBA Brandon Bryant (Red Tree Builders) and Region X President Gus Adams (Adams & Adams Construction) spoke on what’s new with the North Carolina and National Home Builders Associations.
Barry was kind enough to donate beer gift cards for us to get away and 4 members walked away with $60 dollars worth of beer each.
Kevin Hackett was then sworn in as the newly elected President of the AHBA and then installed the new Board of Directors.
