On January 27th, 2022 the Asheville Home Builders Association held our Annual Meeting, and inducted our Board of Directors for the year. Around 100 members came out to enjoy networking, meeting table top vendors, and hearing our keynote speaker.

The event was held at the Hilton Garden Inn Asheville Downtown, with the mingling started at 5:30PM. Over drinks, and hors d’oeuvres members and guest visited table top sponsors from the building industry. Vendors included: 84 Lumber, Build by Design, Carolina Colortones, cLearn, Ferguson, First Restoration Services, Florida Tile, Green Home Solutions, Hummingbird Insurance, Labor Finders, Laurel Windows, Park National Bank, ThreadKore, and Warren Restoration.

Around 7PM, attendees made their way to the ballroom for the presentation. Our Executive Officer Megan Carroll welcomed everyone to the event, and then Gus Adams (Adams & Adams Construction) the NCHBA Vice President – Region X spoke on what will be going on from the state level this year. After thanking the sponsors, and doing a few give aways; Brandon Bryant (Red Tree Builders) the 2022 NCHBA President-Elect took the floor to share more about NC BUILD PAC and lead the inductions.

Brian Sineath was pinned as our 56th President to lead the organization, by his wife and business partner Allyson Sineath. Then our Board of Directors joined him up front to pledge to do their part in making our association the best it can be.

After a few more giveaways it was time for Keynote Speaker Denise Ryan to take the floor. Denise focused on different types of communication and styles. Our rowdy crowd didn’t disappoint. Getting everyone to fill out a quick quiz, Denise broke the road up into groups, and discussed each groups communication style. The key takeaway was that not everyone communicates the same as you, and to get the best out of your employees, better understand you clients, and be a great team member; you need to be aware of that and recognize when communication styles get in the way of productivity. By the end the crowd was laughing, joking, and fireballs were being tossed around the room.

After one final round of giveaways for the night, the event was concluded. We were so thrilled to see so many new faces, regular attendees, and friends. As the Asheville HBA, and the Henderson Transylvania HBA begin it’s merger in 2022; there will be even more opportunities for networking and fun. Make sure you don’t miss out!
