Once again we joined our members out on the Biltmore Sporting Clays Club for our 2023 Sporting Clays Tournament. Hosted on March 17th this year, we had 10 teams in the morning, and 13 teams in the afternoon. A huge thank you to our Presenting Sponsor Builder’s FirstSource for continuing to make this tournament possible. Lunch was sponsored by Laurel Windows and provided by Hi-Tech Integrated Systems (Wally’s Backyard BBQ) which continues to be a huge hit.
Merrill Lynch sponsored the morning’s breakfast which included coffee from Grinders Keepers, who provided hand crafted beverages. Breakfast was from Mini Berry and included a variety of baked goods. After the usual registration and safety meeting (where the teams moved about to keep warm) they set off to shoot the course.
Sharpshooter sponsor Floor Coverings International was between the two stations with their mobile showroom ready to show off their products when the participants were moving areas. Again this year Griffin Waste supplied extra bathrooms for our participants on the course. This year Ammo was sponsored by cLearn, HomeSource Design Center, and Firelight Hearth & Patio.
Shooters had a beautiful day on the course, and the usual 12 stations to shoot from. These stations were labeled by our Buckshot sponsors: Builder’s FirstSource, Hi-Tech Integrated Systems, ProSource, cLearn, Gennett Lumber, MATH Insurance Services, WoodFloorz.com, Southern Concrete Materials, White Insurance, HomeSource Design Center, and Firelight Hearth & Patio. The buckshot sponsors also provided special give aways in the bags as well.
Shooters kept score on scorecards that were sponsored by First Citizens Bank and Kitchens of the South. Which didn’t always have the numbers they wanted on them.
This year we introduced a morning and an afternoon winner. The winner of our Individual 2023 Round for the afternoon was Donald who shot for Team Low-Tech with a score of 96! Our Team 2023 Winner was Wright Family Custom Homes winning in the morning and the afternoon.
