The Black Mountain Golf Club hosted 31 teams in the 2017 Annual AHBA Golf Tournament, presented by First Bank making this the largest Golf Tournament the AHBA has conducted in recent years.
Players were greeted at tee boxes by Eagle Sponsors throughout the course offering wings, barbecue, beer & games as well as information on their company. The weather was sunny and hot, food and beverages were plentiful and we wouldn’t be surprised if some players left with some t-shirt tans.
Players added to the fun throughout the day by trying their hand at the Poker Run, with Sam Arrowood of ASSA ABLOY taking home the grand prize. Proceeds this year went to the Madison County Community Housing Coalition and we are proud to announce over $750 was given to this great cause.
The AHBA gave away an assortment of prizes including golf balls, Polo Shirts, Yeti Ramblers, and a Round of 4 at Black Mountain Golf Club. The Black Mountain Golf Club also provided giveaways for Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive that included golf towels, a Titleist golf hat, and a round of golf. Other giveaways included a flat screen tv provided by First Bank and a $50 Gift Card from First Citizens Bank.
Players voted for their favorite sponsored hole and the winner was Mountain Air Mechanical, Inc.! The AHBA Golf Tournament is such a huge success largely in thanks to our incredible sponsors and dedicated Social Committee.

Each of the 31 teams were flighted by handicap and the three flight winners won a cash prize of $200! The flight three winners were PSNC Energy, MATH Insurance and Southern Concrete Materials. We want to thank everyone that participated in the 2017 AHBA Golf Tournament, and a huge thank you to the Social Committee Members who volunteered throughout the day.
