Our Annual Holiday Party was UGLY, since everyone was dressed in their tackiest Holiday attire! Held December 16th at Highland Brewing, the event was sponsored by Builders FirstSource.
2021 Board members were recognized for their hard work, along with the essential Foundation Club members. This event is really a party though, so we kept the speeches to a minimum.
We had almost 200 folks show up to mingle. There was delicious food from Bears Smokehouse BBQ, we are grateful for their partnership. A mobile Axeville Axe Throwing space was set up thanks to Gennett Lumber. Tacky photos could be taken at the Warren Restoration Photo booth. We also had a DJ to keep the music going all night long.
With our Reverse Raffle sponsored by Ferguson and Math Insurance anyone attending could win amazing prizes. Prizes included: a Yeti Cooler full of Highland Cold Mountain Beer, A Gift Basket of Seasonal goodies, Gift Cards, Hotel Experiences, Local Boutique items, and of course AHBA Swag. These prizes were given by Alfie Loans, Bears BBQ, Biltmore Winery, Carolina Ready Mix, Crossville Studios, Hilton Garden Inn, Gennett Lumber, HomeTrust Bank, MATH Insurance, Park National Bank, ProSource Supply, Warren Restoration, and Union Home Mortgage.
Money was also raised for the NC Build PAC by raffling off a few specialty items including solo stoves, Grove Park Golf Rounds, Panthers Tickets, and a stand-up paddle board from Hellbender. We also had a crowd vote on the tackiest sweater, and it ended up in a tie!
Guests were encouraged to bring new toys to donate to the Toys for Tots Campaign. We are always proud to work with this wonderful organization that is able to play Santa to children in need.
