It’s hard to be a member of our association and not know Donna. As the long time Chair of the The Parade committee, our biggest event (Parade of Homes) and the accompanying Gala wouldn’t be possible without her. Her long hours and service are not only on committees but also the board, helping us transition to our new name. She is uplifting to be around and a valuable advocate for membership. Donna has also been involved in the Mortgage Banker Association of WNC’s, getting them to participate in events like Local Industry Nights with us. Running the King Team with Union Home Mortgage, she has been a loyal Foundation Club member for some time, participating in many events throughout the year and sponsoring to make them even better; including Sporting Clays, the Golf Tournament, Battle of the Builders, Learn Over Lunch, and the Holiday Party. We were very happy and proud to finally recognize Donna King with this overdue, and much deserved award. Get to know Donna a little better below!
What’s your favorite thing about being a member?
I love the staff of the Builders Association of the Blue Ridge Mountains. They do such an amazing job making our memberships valuable. The Motto of “Doing Business with a member” is another wonderful reason to be involved! Being a part of the organization is Great networking! I guess that’s more than one thing. 
What’s your favorite event from the HBA?
That’s easy…the Gala. Parade of Homes Committee works hard throughout the year to make sure this night of recognition is enjoyable for everyone. It’s always fun to get all dressed up.
What’s so special about being a Builder in WNC?
Our building community is very diverse. We have some super talented people in the building industry here in our area. With a large focus on building to Green Built quality, many of the homes feel more like art!
