Donna King is a Branch Manager/Loan Officer for Union Home Mortgage. She has been with Union Home Mortgage for 1 year, but has been in the mortgage industry for 25+ years. She joined the AHBA to stay connected and educated on the issues that affect the housing industry, especially with the construction sector of our market; as well as to share her knowledge with the members about the financing side of the housing market. When she was asked why she enjoys her job in the industry she replied, “I enjoy helping individuals and families achieve their dream of home ownership!” Donna is the chair of the Parade of Homes Committee and serves on AHBA Board of Directors.
– What is something exciting happening at your company currently?
Union Home Mortgage is experiencing smart growth at a time when other companies ae experiencing constriction! We have recently acquired several smaller mortgage companies.
– What has been one of the most important factors of your success?
The most important factors of my success have been integrity and communications. I see myself as an educator and advocate for my clients. I believe in always doing what is best for my clients and making sure they understand the Why and How.
– What piece of advice do you wish you would have been told earlier in life?
I wish someone would have taught me much earlier that failure is an important part of success. It’s important to dust yourself off, learn from it and start again more intelligently!
– How has the AHBA helped you and your company?
Being a member has helped me by exposing me to a great association comprised of exceptional leaders and advocates for the housing industry!
– What is your advice to someone considering joining the AHBA?
My advice would be to get involved and take advantage of all the resources provided! It is well worth the time you invest!
