As of September 4, 2013 all contractors doing business with Buncombe County are now subject to E-Verify work Authorization. The federal E-Verify program, which is operated by the United States Department of Homeland Security and other federal agencies, is used to verify the work authorization of newly hired employees pursuant to federal law.
