Member Benefit

Be a part of the Spike Club! The Spike Club builds itself on member recruitment, retention and involvement.  By recruiting other AHBA Members, you receive credits – making you a Spike. Credits build with the more members you recruit and as those members renew their memberships. Spikes are awarded through increased recognition and visibility at industry events, additional VIP treatment, special invitations and more. Member-to-member recruitment and retention lend to the development of the general membership and our leadership pipeline, keeping the face of the association true to that of our industry and the scope of interests we represent.  Spike Club doesn’t only benefit you, but others too!

HGTV’s 2015 Urban Oasis Is Homage to Asheville and AHBA Member

Since 2011, Home & Garden Television has been choosing a different city every year to house its Urban Oasis. Cities chosen in the past have been of substantial size like New York City, Chicago, Miami, Boston and Atlanta, and the renovations have been in high-rise apartment buildings with a real city feel; however this year is a little different. After HGTV chose Asheville to home its 2015 Urban Oasis location, they began the search for the right house and found a 1920s West Asheville bungalow. This choice and style was contrary to their past selections, but quite fitting for the real feel of Asheville.

We want to recognize and congratulate AHBA Builder Member and Founder of JAG Associates and Construction, Inc., Jody Guokas, for being the HGTV chosen builder to assist in the remodel of the 2015 HGTV Urban Oasis!  Guokas was chosen because of his commitment to Green building and home design, which is one of the main focuses of HGTV’s Urban Oasis.  Explore the deconstruction process, before & after photos or take a virtual tour of the completed home here.  Or enter for your chance to own this year’s HGTV Urban Oasis here.
