Local Industry Night Recap

Here is a quick recap of last week’s Local Industry Night event:

The 4th Annual Local Industry Night took place last Thursday, February 16 at the Hi-Wire Big Top Taproom and was produced by the Asheville Home Builders Association with support from the Western North Carolina Green Building Council, Land of the Sky Association of Realtors and American Institute of Architects Asheville.  This is a one-of-a-kind night of collaboration and networking between organizations and professionals that proudly make up our local home building industry and market in and around the Asheville area.

With 150 in attendance, each association provided giveaways including gift cards to local eateries and hardware stores to a Green Gauge Assessment – four lucky attendees did not leave empty handed. Each group highlighted special announcements included the upcoming Building Green Real Estate Class on March 28, which is free to attend but space is limited. You can learn more about BGRE and register to attend here.  After a Builder receives the BGRE designation, Builders can receive up to a $300 rebate per permit pulled in the city and county.

Additionally, the AHBA was happy to highlight the upcoming Build & Remodel Expo and Playhouse Showdown event this coming up February 25-26 as well as introduce the new “Home Building: Local Economic Impact” Event taking place on April 20th.  Pre-registration and tickets will be required to attend this event – stay tuned to AshevilleHBA.com for complete details by March 15th.

A big Thanks to Duke Energy Progress for sponsoring the dynamic event and Foothills Local Meats for providing an assortment of food and to all of those who attended. Local Industry Night would not be possible without our dedicated members of Asheville’s local associations and professionals that make up our local home building industry.
